FLAGS FOR YOUR MODELS

Realistic flags for your models can be obtained by using "Buckram". You should be able to find this fabric in a good fabric store like Hancock Fabric or try on-line looking under millinery supplies. Buckram is a fabric that is impregnated with a stiffener that allows you to form it into shapes with a damp rag, steam or even pinching between your fingers. I use sharpie markers and color a piece on both sides, cut to the size you want and then shape with your fingers and glue to your poles. I have also glued thread on one side hanging them in a line sorta like the flags at a used car lot. The fabric has a dull look to it even after coloring giving a bit of a weathered look.
